Life as Healing Balm: Autumn Equinox Reflections

“May we live in alignment with the Seen & Unseen, may we tend to our grief with grace.

May our longings be invitations to return to the Simplicity of our Hearts.” —Dr. Jacqui ND

Dear readers,

Today is the Autumn Equinox.

The sun is shining directly over Earth’s equator, it is a day of balance and harmony. A liminal space of time, where day and night, light and dark share an equal seat at the table of Life.

Over the past couple weeks, I have been diving into my seasonal studies and eagerly preparing for Autumns whispers.

As we witness nature transitioning into its new energy, we observe our trees reconsider their leaves and watch the birds grow restless; they are now eating more than ever, sleeping less, and covering some considerable ground as they eat up every last bit of food they can find.

Just like nature, we too, prepare, shed, and must unravel everything that once was.

Instead of gathering 1,000 acorns like squirrels, Autumn beckons us to move our consciousness from the energy of mind into the energy of Heart. We are called to explore our heart’s vision for the year to come.

We are called into deeper devotional restoration, simple focus and slowing down.

Examining what is truly sustainable in our lives, Autumn beckons us to reconnect with our Earthly essence. Breathing in and out, we reflect on all that has been bestowed upon us during summer.

It can be a season of felt resistance as Autumn invites us to dance with our grief, courage, sadness, and summer reflections.

Yet Autumn, ruthlessly and gently encourages us to continue dancing…

When we welcome this, we transform.

Autumn is the essence of the architectural beauty of reciprocity that is inherit in all of Life.

She effortlessly sings Life’s song.

It is a season that encourages us to embrace the profound act of trust and letting go.

May we maintain trust that Earth will once again, provide us with the vibrant blooms, sun-drenched days, and tasty farmers market strawberries.

Until then, may we graciously tend the gardens beneath our feet and let all of them speak for us as we enter our Heart’s.
